PLEASE READ THIS FOR MULTIPLE PURCHASES:
I will combine shipping where possible (if items can fit in the same box and ship together safely). A 5# mineral specimen and a glass display will not usually ship together safely. If you want to get a combined shipment (where possible) then
DO NOT PAY
until I invoice you. Just use the "request total from seller" link at the top of your cart when finished shopping - OR - Commit to Buy each item but DO NOT PAY until I send an invoice with combined shipping. I will pack the items together where possible, get the adjusted cost, and invoice you.
IF YOU PAY FIRST IT IS TOO LATE TO UNDO IT.
I ship in BOXES for better protection - not envelopes or padded mailers. If you pay for FIRST CLASS or PRIORITY MAIL then you will get it that way, not by Media Mail or Parcel Post or other slow shipping. Tracking numbers are linked to your "my eBay" and "Purchases" pages as soon as I run the label.
I want you to be happy with your purchase! If you have ANY problems with an item just contact me ("ask seller a question" link) and I will do what it takes to resolve the issue!
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This listing is for the exact lot shown.
These are the original print blocks for an old Mammalogy or Natural History journal publication -
Likely University of Kansas Museum of Natural History as other items from this lot were marked as such.
Probably 1950s.
These were recently removed from a 10-15 year old shadowbox mount so there is adhesive (dried silicone) residue on the back of each block and one of them is still connected to the mat piece that it was attached to - see pics for the details.
Block 1 (on left) shows the side view of 3 skulls and 1 mandible. Attached (with silicone) to a mat piece. The original markings on the paper block wrap are taped on the back and read "Fig 65-68 -- Lagomorpha -- Vol 5 - No 10". Size of block (not including attached mat) is 3-7/8" X 6-1/2" X 7/8" thick.
Block 2 (on right) shows the top view of 5 skulls. The original markings on the paper block wrap are taped to the back and read "Fig 10-14 -- Lagomorpha -- Vol 5, No 10". Size of block is just under 3-7/8" X 5-7/8" X 7/8" thick.
The blocks are wood. The attached plates are metal. The raised illustration appears to still have some dried blue/black ink which gives it a nice shine/contrast.
The items shown are exactly what you'll get. A great item for the mammalogist, zoologist or natural history collector.
Thanks for looking.
